On a lovely spring evening, a group of 25 artists and 50 art collectors, assembled at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod to introduce them to each other over a lovely five course meal specially prepared by Chef Joe Cizynski in the Great Hall. Each artist created 3 pieces, 2 of which were awarded to 2 collectors, and one to be part of the Botanica Exhibition that is now on display and for purchase.
Joyce is standing by her 24”X30” painting entitled “.” It is acrylic on canvas and is a compilation of many photos taken many years ago of photos of her children and grandchildren stopping at the Sandwich Boardwalk at high tide, jumping into the cool salty water after a day together at the beach.
For the collectors, Joyce created “Osterville Sail Boat”, an 11”X14” Acrylic on canvas painting of a sail boat leaving East Bay on a sunny day heading out to sea and “Save Dowse’s Beach,” a 9”X12” watercolor painting emphasizing the town's objection to bringing cables ashore into this fragile seashore area.

The paintings were distributed to their lucky participants between courses of the delicious meal.

The painting of “Bill and Louie” acrylic on canvas, 9”X12” is of my neighbor Bill, and his year old yellow lab, Louie, who make everyone in the quiet neighborhood smile when you see them on their daily walks.
And “Stoney Brook Grist Mill” was painted of the old Brewster Grist Mill in the springtime, 11”X14” acrylic on canvas, with lots of daffodils brightening up the scene.
